Q. What is the process from the Regional Center referral to the start of in-home sessions?
A. Depending upon the Regional Center, the general step-by-step process goes something like this:

- Once a child has been determined eligible to receive services, parents obtain a referral for these services from their local Regional Center.

- AST conducts an in-home assessment (an interview with the family and observation and interaction with the child).

- AST sends a report to the Regional Center recommending services.

- AST waits for funding approval from the Regional Center.

- Once funding is approved, AST contacts the parents or guardians to schedule the first in-home session.
